アルバム「Imagine」に収録されています。
1968年、ヨガの導師マハリシ・マヘシ・ヨギの講義を受けるためインドに滞在していた折に作曲した曲で、当時は「Child of Nature」というタイトルで、メロディ・ラインこそ同じだが、歌詞・アレンジがまったく違った曲でした。その後、ジョンは、歌詞をオノ・ヨーコに自身の嫉妬深い性格をわびる内容に改め、アレンジもフィル・スペクターに依頼しピアノ・バラード調に変えてタイトルを、「Child of Nature」から「Jealous Guy」に変更しアルバム『イマジン』に収めました。
1981年に日本独自の追悼シングルとして発売され、1988年には『イマジン・サウンドトラック』が発売された折に全世界でシングル発売されています。
