ライプニッツ（Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, 1646-1716）の小論「モナドロジー」講読の第3回です。
精神的なものをモデルとした「モナド」から万物が成り立つとするライプニッツの立場にとって、では人間と動物、さらには一般に精神的ではないとされる無生物などはどう違うのか、というのが今回のポイントなります。そこをライプニッツは非精神的・無生物的なものも「意識をなくしたような状態」として説明するわけです。そして最後に人間を他の動物から区別する「理性」の話が出てきます。

ライプニッツ（Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, 1646-1716）の小論「モナドロジー」講読の第7回です。
今回は物質の小さな断片であっても一つのミクロコスモスである、という話が出てきます。これが顕微鏡の発達によって登場した世界観である点も、しばしば指摘されることですね。
ただ、「モナドには部分がない」「モナドには窓がない」ということと合わせると、さまざまな疑問が出てきます。
今回は事情により開始が遅かったのでやや短めです。

ライプニッツ（Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, 1646-1716）の小論「モナドロジー」講読の第8回です。
今回いよいよ、「予定調和 harnomie préétablie」の学説が登場します。私の魂（心）の中と外界は相互作用があるわけではなく、予定調和により一致しているだけ、という奇妙な学説ですが、共通する考え方はデカルト主義の伝統があること、そしてこの予定調和を取り去ってしまえば「モナド」は「独我論」的自我に通じることを論じました。
「モナドロジー」は残り2ページなので、次回で終わりの予定です。

ライプニッツ（Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, 1646-1716）の小論「モナドロジー」講読の第4回です。
今回は思考の原理としてライプニッツが重んじた矛盾律と充足理由律が登場します。特に充足理由律はライプニッツが定式化した原理として有名ですね。ただ、これに関しては少し言い足りなかったこともあるので次回以降にまた話そうかと。
後半は神の話になります。

ライプニッツ（Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, 1646-1716）の小論「モナドロジー」講読の第5回です。
今回はもっぱら神がどのような存在かについての話です。モナドは（窓がないので）神を通してのみ他のモナドに作用できる、というかなり奇妙な考え方も出てきます。
関連してビュリダンのロバ、神の存在証明、マルブランシュ（時代も近いデカルト主義の哲学者）の機会原因論 occasionisme なども関連する話題として触れました。なかなか内容の濃い回になったかと思います。

いよいよ、モナドは単純なものでありながら多様な知覚を含む、という論点が出てきました。デカルト主義への批判もあって、徐々にそうしたところを通してライプニッツ哲学の特徴がはっきりしてきたかと思います。

ライプニッツ（Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, 1646-1716）の小論「モナドロジー」講読の第9回、これにて読了です。
最後は人間の精神が神の像であるという議論から、自然的世界と道徳的世界も神において予定調和的に一致するという話で終わります。このライプニッツの善悪論というのはどうにも悪や苦しみの現実から乖離していると評判が良くないのですが、神にとって善も悪もないとするスピノザからライプニッツが自身の哲学を差別化しようとしたポイントでもあります。
いろいろ総括もして終わりです。

久しぶりに本業であるフランス語の哲学から、ライプニッツ（Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, 1646-1716）の小論「モナドロジー」を読んでみることにしました。非常に浩瀚な業績があり、ニュートンと同時期の微積分法の発明、ニュートンを代弁したサミュエル・クラークとの論争など、数学・自然科学の歴史にも関わりの深い哲学者です。ドイツの哲学者ですが、主な著作はラテン語とフランス語で、今回読んだ「モナドロジー」もフランス語です。
「モナドロジー」は17ページほどの小論であり、発表当時にはタイトルさえなかったものですが、「モナド」という基本単位で万物が構成されるとするライプニッツの哲学を凝縮しているので、解説しながら読んでいきます。
初回ですので前半はライプニッツについての解説多め。久しぶりのフランス語ということもあって単語・文法も比較的丁寧にやっています。
