I did some experiments with 雨衣 (Ui) from VoiSona library, voiced by Shigure Ui. I needed to do a lot of tuning and small adjustments to make a Japanese voice library to sing in English. It's not perfect, but I believe I gave it my best shot.
This time, I also took some effort to work on the music video, I hand-drew the art in this MV. I hope you like this childish style I'm going with.

作品解説

元となっている作品は、シュトックハウゼンの「Telemusik(1966)」です。この曲はシュトックハウゼンまでの西洋音楽の文脈をニコニコ動画という日本のサブカルチャーを強く感じられるプラットフォームに無理くり生み落とそうというテーマで作曲したものです。
原曲と同じく雅楽の打楽器の打撃音を合図にモーメントが分かれており、原曲より小規模な全17のモーメントにより構成されています。大まかな楽式はほとんど原曲と変わりません。全4つの打楽器に合わせて4つの日本のサブカルチャーの風景を割り当てました。モーメントの持続時間は各打楽器が持つサステインの長さに合わせて決定されます。サステインが短いものから順に、

拍子木 - 「アニメ」カルチャー
木鉦 - 「ボカロ」カルチャー
お鈴 - 「ニコニコ」カルチャー
こぶ銅鑼 - 梅本佑利さん「萌え²少女(2022)」からの引用

となっています。原曲と同様に、各モーメントの発生回数は1〜8まで、持続時間(秒)は8〜34までのフィボナッチ数列から決定されています。発生回数が多いほど、持続時間は短くなっており、その逆も同様です。モーメントは対称的な順番で配置されています(全てではありません)。
原曲ではリング変調とグリッサンドが曲を印象づける大きな要素となっていますが、今回はグリッサンドの代わりに「逆再生」を変奏の一環として行っています。逆再生とリング変調を経た素材は元の形が認識できないほどにまで変化してゆきます。この曲では逆再生に限らず、ニコニコ動画をはじめとしたプラットフォームのネタ動画、音MADで使用されている加工方法をそのまま変奏の手段として使用しています。
原曲では雰囲気的にも雅楽の影響が見られますが、そういった間や静寂などを決して繊細とは言えない音色(あるいは声色)でむしろ破壊し、「日本文化」という言葉の多面性を映し出しています。
