世界中の天才が集まり100人中3人しか合格しない超難関、超名門と言われるスタンフォード大学。その中でも格が違うのがフーヴァー研究所。元英国首相マーガレット・サッチャーは、「政治・経済・国際問題に関して世界で最も重要な研究組織はフーヴァー研究所であります」と評価をしている。

在籍する教授は133名(うち3名はノーベル経済学賞受賞者)。ジョージ・W・ブッシュ政権時にはそのうち25名がホワイトハウスの要職につきアメリカを舵取りする。
