Perpignan is a busy station with a variety of trains to be observed: EMUs, TGVs and loco hauled passenger and freight. 8 July 2013. The original station building on the down side is being restored. On the up side a new departure area has been incorporated into a shopping mall which includes two excellent hotels and units including C&A, a supermarket and a Subway Café. There is a Lidls store on an adjacent street on the up side. There are cafes facing the original station building which has retained its classical train shed. The train filmed is coming from the Cerbere on the Spanish border.
