Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams is a sequel to the 2009 re-imagining Giana Sisters DS. Giana and her sister Maria were in bed when a warp gate appeared, in which Maria disappeared. Before the gate closes, Giana jumps through it to rescue her sister. There, she finds herself in a dream world full of foes.
In this side-scroller 2.5D platformer Giana can swim, jump, kill enemies by jumping on their heads or 'twist' the dream, and collect gems to unlock the next levels. When Giana twists, the entire dream world is transformed. In the Nightmare world, Cute Giana is peaceful, mocking the nightmare which once frightened her when she was a child, and with peaceful music in the background. Cute Giana can twirl, spin in the air, and fall very slowly. In the fairy dream world Punk Giana is upset and the soundtrack is turned into metal music arrangements. Punk Giana can bash, reach high passages, destroy weak obstacles and kill enemies.

Guacamelee! is a side-scrolling platformer with interconnected areas. Juan gains upgrades over time which allow him to overcome obstacles and reach new areas. While platforming is obviously an important of the gameplay, there is also a big focus on fighting enemies in melee combat. Each upgrade has to be used for both exploration and combat purposes because different enemies require different tactics to defeat.
Super Turbo Championship Edition is the third version of the game. Compared to the original game, it integrates the previously released DLC seamlessly.

In How to Survive, the player character is stranded on a zombie-infested island. During the course of the game, the character will visit four islands while trying to survive. The islands are not completely abandoned as there are a few people to meet which provide main and side quests to solve.
In its core, this is an isometric shooter. However, besides the action there is also a survival element involved: the character has watch thirst, hunger and exhaustion and battle it by eating, drinking and sleeping. Thankfully the backdrop is a tropical island which means the basic means to survive are relatively easy to find.
This is accompanied by a crafting system which allows to combine pretty much everything for useful stuff. Solving quests and killing enemies gives experience points which eventually lead to a level up. Then one of the character's skill trees can be improved - what skills are available depends on the used character.

In Ittle Dew, the player takes control over Ittle Dew who strands on a remote island together with her sidekick Tippsie, a winged fox. Now she has to find a way home.
Regarding gameplay, it is reminiscent of the top-down Zelda titles: the protagonist is directly controlled and explores both the overworld and various dungeons. While there are some enemies to fight, the focus is on puzzle solving, mostly Sokoban-style sliding puzzles. During the course of the game Ittle gets three weapons which are also used for puzzle solving: a fire sword, a ice wand and a wand which allows to create blocks and teleport.
There are shortcuts and secrets to find, and an online leaderboard for the shortest completion time.

Jotun is a top-down action game with a focus on exploration and based on Old Norse Mythology. Thora is a brave viking woman who died ingloriously in a shipwreck. However, the Norse Gods have given her a chance at entering Valhalla if she is able to defeat the five Jotun who dwell in different worlds, all connected by the Ginnungagap.
The viking warrior has to make her way through different levels in order to collect runes which grant her access to the boss battles. By exploring the different levels, she is also able to collect blessing from different Norse Gods as well as glimpses into Old Norse mythology. The game uses hand drawn graphics.
The Valhalla Edition of the game is the name used for the later console version of the game. It adds Valhalla Mode, a boss-rush mode with harder versions of the jotun.

Just Dance 2014 is the fifth main game in the dancing series where players are rated for their ability to mimic dance routines to popular songs. For consoles supporting a microphone, a karaoke mode is supported. There the game does not rate the player's words, but the notes and pitch.
Returning from the previous games is the classic free-dance mode. A new on-stage mode has one player doing a lead role while two other players do backup routines. Another mode introduces ghost recordings of routines from prior games to compete. The party master mode is exclusive to Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One and builds on the pupper master mode from the Wii U version of Just Dance 4. It allows one player to change the moves, songs and rules for up to four players on the fly. Non-stop shuffle and the dance quests from the previous game are no longer available. The game is divided into three distinctive chapters which can be played in any order. The first two are relatively linear sections which introduce the the two main characters Mi and a rubber ball. In the third chapter the two characters merge and Mi can transform to the ball at any time - with the abilities of both characters at hand, the player can now explore the world freely. Since this is no metroidvania game, there are no additional powers and items to find, but of course there are still obstacles to overcome in order to open up more paths: NPC quests, platforming and puzzles.

The gameplay maintains the traditional elements of previous Mario Kart games, mostly from the two recent installments on the Wii and 3DS respectively. The hang-glider and underwater mechanics also return, as well as Coins, with the player being able to collect up to ten in one race as in Mario Kart 7.
The newest feature for the series is anti-gravitational segments, that not only allow for more dynamic track design, but also for racers to drive across walls and ceilings. When in anti-gravity, if a racer bumps into another racer, the kart spins rather than just bumping and both racers receive a speed boost. New gameplay mechanics are new types of blocks, such as mud blocks that can be dissolved with water and pipe blocks that redirect the water stream, and the mission of seeking out the lost USBs (Ugly Secret Babies) hidden in each level. As in the first game, each incident has a target clear time.

Ninja Gaiden 3 is the third main game in the series since the reboot in 2004. The game starts with Ryu contacted by the government because an unknown group launched a terrorist attack in London. In a video they declare they want Hayabusa handed to them.
Just like the other titles in the series gameplay is centered around fast-paced combat with a quick succession of moves to build up combos and fight off multiple enemies at the same time. Early in the game, Ryu receives an evil curse that fuses his dragon sword into his arm. The effect of the curse makes him more powerful or weaker at certain moments in the game. Compared to the earlier games enemies are no longer as deadly efficient in their attacks and Ryu can sustain more damage.
Razor's Edge is an update of Ninja Gaiden 3. It includes all the downloadable content as well as some new changes. A new playable character is available, Ayane, with her own story mode chapters.

Nintendo Land is a collection of mini-games designed to showcase various features of the Wii U GamePad. Set inside a virtual theme park of the game's namesake, each of the twelve games, referred to as "attractions" is inspired by a classic Nintendo franchise.
The games are split into three categories. Co-operative games include The Legend of Zelda Battle Quest, Pikmin Adventure, and Metroid Blast. The competitive games are Mario Chase, Luigi's Ghost Mansion, and Animal Crossing Sweet Day. The solo games are Donkey Kong's Crash Course, Captain Falcon's Twister Race, Octopus Dance, Takamaru's Ninja Castle, Yoshi's Fruit Cart, and Balloon Trip Breeze.
The game includes an interactive hub world from which the player can access each of the attractions. As you play, you'll earn coins which you can use to purchase various items to populate the hub world. In addition to the GamePad, a Wii Remote is required to get the most of of the attractions.
