Each contestant fought tooth and nail to see who had what it takes to be the best trained and best groomed dog in the country. A three-year-old Bulldog named Jorge won the Best Dog of the Year award due to his "world-standard" features and "strong muscle tone". A two-year-old Pomeranian called Jackie won the Best Dog in Show award, another coveted title which is a pre-requisite for entering the Best Dog of the Year contest.
