The First 15 Minutes of Teslagrad (Wii U)
Copied from MobyGames:
Teslagrad is a side-scrolling platformer with strong puzzle elements. The protagonist is a boy who finds himself inside the mysterious Tesla Tower which houses fictional technology inspired by the works of inventor Nikola Tesla. The game communicates without words.
The player moves inside the tower which can be freely explored. To progress, the player needs to use special abilities to solve puzzles which are all based on magnetic fields: objects with different colours are attracted to each other while objects of the same colour are repelled. The player has gloves which allow him to change the polarity of objects. During the course of the games, more abilities and gadgets are earned. Those are used to reach new parts of the tower. The puzzles are mostly embedded in platforming challenges which require pixel-perfect jumping and fast reactions. There are also a few boss battles.
The First 15 Minutes of Sonic: Lost World (Wii U)
Copied from MobyGames:
Sonic: Lost World is a 3D action platformer in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. In the introduction Sonic and Tails chase Doctor Eggman who has kidnapped critters. Tails' plane is shot down and they land in Lost Hex, a world in the clouds. There they discover Eggman has used a magic conch to control the Deadly Six. Sonic manages to break the influence, but the Deadly Six then use one of Eggman's machines to drain the world below of its life force. This leads to an unlikely alliance between the duo and Eggman to defeat the Deadly Six.
The game's levels combine three types of gameplay. There are full 3D levels where Sonic progresses through spherical worlds, but can go entirely around the sphere along the way by moving left or right. The second type of levels are side-scrolling 2.5D environments with a fixed side view and regular camera turn. The final type of levels are 3D and on-rails. Sonic moves forward automatically and quick reflexes are needed.
The First 15 Minutes of Pure Chess (Wii U)
Copied from MobyGames:
Pure Chess offers digital chess games on a 3D board with a camera view that can be moved freely. Players can choose from a selection of traditional chess sets including Staunton, Checker and Williams and play with a choice of locations comprising of a museum, a stylish penthouse and a grand library. For players at a beginner's level the game teaches the basics through step-by-step tutorials. Chess skills can then be improved through tournaments with four consecutive games against different opponents of different skills levels. It also contains the official Elo rating system.
Next to exhibitions matches and tournaments, it offers "play by mail" for asynchronous multiplayer games with up to 8 games simultaneously that can span hours, days or weeks. There is no standard local or online mode, only the asynchronous "play by mail" where moves are sent to another player through a message.
The First 15 Minutes of OlliOlli (Wii U)
Copied from MobyGames:
OlliOlli is a 2D side-scrolling street skateboarding game with a pixel visual style. The player guides a skateboarder through different levels with many objectives to complete, such as reaching a certain score, performing a specific trick, catching air, pushing a limited amount of times, grinding specific objects, or getting certain landings. There are no enemies in the environment, so the focus is entirely on solo play performing tricks by jumping, doing spins, grabs, slides, flips, kicks, etc. The skater moves forward automatically and the player uses keys or buttons to spin left or right, jump, perform tricks, and also a key or button to control the landing. The amount of buttons is limited, but timing is important. Tricks can be linked together into combos.
There are five different environments with ten levels each. These are split up in five amateur and five pro levels, each with five objectives. Later levels have more obstacles and hazards.
The First 15 Minutes of Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge (Wii U)
Copied from MobyGames:
Ninja Gaiden 3 is the third main game in the series since the reboot in 2004. The game starts with Ryu contacted by the government because an unknown group launched a terrorist attack in London. In a video they declare they want Hayabusa handed to them.
Just like the other titles in the series gameplay is centered around fast-paced combat with a quick succession of moves to build up combos and fight off multiple enemies at the same time. Early in the game, Ryu receives an evil curse that fuses his dragon sword into his arm. The effect of the curse makes him more powerful or weaker at certain moments in the game. Compared to the earlier games enemies are no longer as deadly efficient in their attacks and Ryu can sustain more damage.
Razor's Edge is an update of Ninja Gaiden 3. It includes all the downloadable content as well as some new changes. A new playable character is available, Ayane, with her own story mode chapters.
The First 15 Minutes of Just Dance 2017 (Wii U)
Copied from MobyGames:
Just Dance 2017 is the 2017 edition in the main series of the Just Dance dancing games where players perform dance routines, mimicking the moves of on-screen performers, to earn points. It continues support for the control mechanism introduced in Just Dance 2016 and Just Dance Now where an app for Android and iOS phones turns the device into a controller for the game, registering movement through the accelerometer/gyroscope. The phone is also used to select dancers and browse through menus so no other controllers are required.
The game modes for this edition are Just Dance, Just Dance Machine, World Dance Floor, Just Dance TV, Dance Quest, Sweat & Playlists, and Video Challenge. As with the previous edition the library can be extended with a subscription service called Just Dance Unlimited, which provides access to about 200 additional songs from a streaming library.
The First 15 Minutes of Just Dance 2014 (Wii U)
Copied from MobyGames:
Just Dance 2014 is the fifth main game in the dancing series where players are rated for their ability to mimic dance routines to popular songs. For consoles supporting a microphone, a karaoke mode is supported. There the game does not rate the player's words, but the notes and pitch.
Returning from the previous games is the classic free-dance mode. A new on-stage mode has one player doing a lead role while two other players do backup routines. Another mode introduces ghost recordings of routines from prior games to compete. The party master mode is exclusive to Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One and builds on the pupper master mode from the Wii U version of Just Dance 4. It allows one player to change the moves, songs and rules for up to four players on the fly. Non-stop shuffle and the dance quests from the previous game are no longer available. The online multiplayer mode for all consoles is called the world dance floor mode.
The First 15 Minutes of Devil's Third (Wii U)
Copied from GameFaqs:
From the creative mind of legendary designer Tomonobu Itagaki comes Devil's Third, an over-the-top, third-person action shooter that combines modern military weaponry with ninja-style swordplay and melee combat. It has a unique vision for a deep and challenging online mode that blends clan-based action, resource management and strategy.
At the heart of the single-player campaign is Ivan, a former mercenary let loose from his incarceration to right the wrongs of his past and take down a shadowy terrorist group he once belonged to. With the worlds satellites and electrical weaponry having been wiped out, and warfare once again reduced to close combat between soldiers, Ivan must use a colourful array of weaponry to shoot and attack his way through any foe standing in the way of his attempt at redemption. With fast-paced combat and finishing moves galore, a day in the life of Ivan is anything but ordinary.
The First 15 Minutes of Darksiders II (Wii U)
Copied from MobyGames:
Darksiders II is an action-adventure game and the sequel to Darksiders. It takes place parallel to the first game where War, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, went to Earth after he was stripped of his powers and in tricked in causing a war between heaven and hell. His brother Death is convinced of his innocence and sets out at the same time to resurrect humanity and prove his brother's innocence. He travels through different lands and locations to restore the mistakes and kill those responsible.
The gameplay with its third-person hack-and-slash is similar to the first game. The environments consists of large open world areas where dungeons lead to new locations. Next to the action there are also still many environment-based puzzles that require the manipulation of levers, tiles, pressure plates, doors and portals to progress. Compared to War in the first game, Death is much more agile and can perform acrobatic moves.
The First 15 Minutes of Bayonetta (Wii U)
Copied from MobyGames:
Bayonetta is a single-player action game with hack-and-slash combat set in a contemporary fantasy world. The story follows Bayonetta, a witch who awakens after a 500-year slumber at the bottom of a lake with no memory of her past. As she explores the city of Vigrid, she is constantly attacked by angelic forces drawn to her presence. Bayonetta gradually regains fragments of her lost history and the fate of the world tied to the power of the Eyes of the World.
Bayonetta fights with her signature four guns, two held in her hands and two attached to her heels, allowing for extended melee-ranged combinations. Throughout the game she acquires additional weapons such as swords, whips, claws, and shotguns. Defeated enemies drop halos that function as currency, which can be used in the Gates of Hell shop.
A central mechanic is Witch Time. This slows down the environment while Bayonetta moves at full speed, enabling counterattacks and complex combos.
The First 15 Minutes of Bayonetta 2 (Wii U)
Copied from MobyGames:
Bayonetta 2 is the sequel to Bayonetta. You play as Bayonetta, an Umbran Witch who is out to rescue her friend Jeanne from the depths of Inferno. The game is set a few months after the events of the first game. Along the way she has to battle a host of angels and demons who are out to stop her. This is a 3rd-person action game in the mold of Devil May Cry or God of War, fighting multiple enemies and combining different moves based on melee combat and gunplay. The game is all about pulling off fantastic combos with precise timing as you face a number of memorable battles in a variety of locations.
By dodging incoming attacks at the last second, Witch Time is activated, slowing down time with an opportunity to retaliate. This technique is also used to solve environmental puzzles. The levels are built as a labyrinth of narrow one-way corridors with some junctions. Of course they are feature a number of obstacles such as arrows which fling Armillo into a direction, slippery ice surfaces, endless pits or boss fights. Each level also has a parallel universe which is a accessed by finding teleport stations. Armillo can only survive a limited time in there and the gameplay adds basic switch puzzles.
The First 15 Minutes of Prince of Persia: Warrior Within (Gamecube)

Now the Prince must travel to the mysterious Island of Time, where he hopes to find the Empress of Time and, through time manipulation, somehow prevent her from creating the Sands in the first place...
The game comes with a new, darker look for the Prince and his surroundings. The fights are more brutal and take a larger part in the game, as the Prince now has enhanced fighting moves including new attack moves via walls and poles. The storyline also lets you travel back and forth in time, visiting the same locations in an alternate time period.

Heian Gensou Ibunroku (Heian Fantasy Chronicles) is an alternate story set in Japan's Heian period. The First 15 Minutes of サムライスピリッツ: 斬紅郎無双剣 (PlayStation, Samurai Shodown III)
Copied from PlayStation DataCenter:
The third incarnation of the 2D fighting game Samurai Shodown is now available on the PlayStation with the release of Samurai Shodown III: Blades of Blood, known in Japan as Samurai Spirits: Zankuro Musouken. The game revolves around the evil Zankuro Minazuki. Zankuro ravaged lands, tortured innocent people, and burned villages to the ground. Rightfully nicknamed "The Demon," Zakuro attacked hundreds of people, becoming famous for his extreme brutality.
Now 12 mighty warriors search for the crazed Zankuro, each with their own agenda or reason for wanting to kill him.
Samurai Shodown III differs from its predecessors in the two fighting styles available for each character: slash and bust. Each style is symbolic of the light and dark sides to the characters' personalities, and gives players access to different moves and an almost entirely different way of stringing together combos and special attacks.
The First 15 Minutes of Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation (PlayStation)
Copied from MobyGames:
According to Egyptian legend, Horus outwitted the evil god Set and imprisoned him in a secret tomb...
Five thousand years later, Lara Croft discovers the lost tomb and unwittingly unleashes the Set, fulfilling the ancient prophecy of his return to plunge mankind into darkness! In a race against time, Lara must use all of her wit and skill to re-imprison Set and save the world from Armageddon.
Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation plays very similar to the previous games in the series, but some new things have been added to the game. The biggest addition is that now rather large parts of the game consist of several interconnected levels sometimes explored in any order, with puzzles in one level often requiring that some actions are done in other levels. Lara has also learned a few new moves: she can climb into the niches with low ceilings, she can now move around the corners while hanging and she can also pull levers and open trap-doors while jumping.
The First 15 Minutes of The King of Fighters '97 (PlayStation)
Copied from MobyGames:
Additions this year come in the form of slightly improved graphics and sounds, new moves and a new game mode. Gameplay is much more plot-driven, as you have middle-bosses that can change depending on what team you select. In addition, there are several special endings which are only shown when certain "Edit Team" combinations are selected.
As of The King of Fighters '97, you can play in either the Extra or Advanced game modes. Extra Mode is the typical AOF/KOF scheme, in which your power gauge fills up as you defend yourself or charge yourself up. The new Advanced Mode, only allows you to charge your gauge as you perform special moves and attacks. Extra allows one to sidestep attacks while Advanced allows the character to roll and dodge attacks; Advanced also allow a character to perform a potent "Super Desperation Move" at any time. In contrast, SDMs can only be performed in Extra when a character has less than a quarter of their health left.
The First 15 Minutes of Command & Conquer (PlayStation)
Copied from MobyGames:
Command & Conquer develops ideas from Westwood's previous game Dune II: The Building of a Dynasty, forming a real-time strategy (RTS) game. The control system involves selecting units with the mouse and then directing them, while the opponents make their moves without waiting for a "turn" to end.
The game focuses on a war between two organizations, The Brotherhood of Nod and the Global Defense Initiative, which fight not only for global supremacy, but also over the mysterious extraterrestrial resource known as Tiberium which is highly valuable yet lethal to direct human contact. The player can take control of either side for more than 15 missions. Both have different units and structures, including artillery, tanks and light infantry.
The game also features FMV mission briefings and victory cutscenes.

Street Fighter II shifted the arcade competitive dynamic from high score into human competition, including large groups.
The First 15 Minutes of Broken Sword II: The Smoking Mirror (PlayStation)
Copied from MobyGames:
Broken Sword: The Smoking Mirror is the second game in the Broken Sword series.
The player alternately controls George Stobbart and Nicole Collard, the French journalist he met in the first game and who has since become his girlfriend. The game starts with George witnessing the kidnapping of Nicole. This event eventually leads to an investigation into a conspiracy revolving around a forthcoming solar eclipse and the evil Aztec god Tezcatlipoca. The locations visited throughout the game include Paris, Marseilles, London, Quaramonte, the jungle, a Caribbean environment, and a zombie island. Certain locations from the previous game make a return.
The game is entirely in 2D and gameplay is in typical point-and-click fashion. The player moves the character around using the mouse, examines the environment, talks to other people, and collect items stored in an inventory. These items need to be used or combined with other items to solve puzzles.
