コロナワクチンの卸値は機密事項のはずが、ツイッターでEUの契約金額が漏れるという事件がありました。
今回はワクチンビジネスの顧客は誰か、またお金の流れについて解説します。
ブルーオーシャン産業のワクチンメーカーの最大顧客（お金の出し手）は、いったい誰でしょうか？
答えは、「各国政府」です。
アフリカやミャンマーなどへ渡航するにあたってワクチン接種をするときに、日本では、民間の病院で高いお金を払って打ってもらうなど、渡航者用のマーケットも大きくなっています。
そのため、国が主にお金を出していることを忘れがちです。これが1つのポイントになります。
最近の報道を見ていると、CEPI、GAVI、COVAXなどなど、似たような横文字がコロナ関連でいろいろ出てきます。ここで整理をしておきましょう。
CEPIは、The Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations の略で、2017年にエピデミックを起こさないようにするためにつくられた、ワクチンの開発に支援金を補助する団体です。
Gavi・Global Alliance は、スイスジュネーブに2000年に設立された世界の Public Private Partnership で最も成功した部類の組織です。元々は Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization という長い名前でした。
「Global Alliance（地球規模の同盟）」という言葉からもわかるように、ワクチンの重要性を理解した英国政府が、2016年から2020年の間に必要となった＄93億ドルのうちの25％を支援。さらに、アメリカ、ノルウェー、Gates Foundation（ビル&メリンダ・ゲイツ財団）が続いて、この4つが大口の寄付者となっています。
では、ワクチンの価格は一体幾ら位なのでしょうか？
ワクチン1回分が225円～1,860円とのこと。ベルギーの大臣がツイッターで漏らしたとのことです。
EUの契約を見ると、アストラゼネカ製が1.78ユーロ（約225円）で最安値になっています。
これは、オックスフォード大学が権利をアストラゼネカに売る時に、最初の1年間（最初のパンデミックの間）は利益を出さない価格で供給することという契約を結んだためです。
一番高かったのはモデルナ製の18ドル（約2,000円）で、ファイザー製は12ユーロ（約1,520円)だったようです。
