植物の起源。それは今から20 億年以上前に、海の中で光合成をはじめたシアノバクテリアに由来します。それから長い時を経て、植物は陸上へ進出し、花や種子を創造したりと、様々に進化を遂げました。

こうした植物の驚くべき神秘と生命力に感化されて制作された植物アートを本展示では取り上げます。

アーティストの視点や作為が加わったマンメイドな植物はどれも何かが極端で、誇張された、いわば「不自然な植物」。しかし、そこには科学と芸術が融合した時にだけ生じるワンダーな魅力が満ち溢れています。７人のアーティストが植物とコラボレーションすることで作り出した不自然な植物。光合成と想像力がむすんだ植物造形の美をあなたの全感覚と想像力を駆使してお楽しみください。

またとなりのエリアにて、本田亮「葉っぱでアート」を同時開催いたします。

Abstract: Plants originally comes from cyanobacteria which started photosynthesis 2-billion years ago. After a remarkable long period, plants developed on the land, created flowers and seeds, and evolutionally advanced. This exhibition focuses on the artistically expressions which are inspired from the mystical and fantastical power of plants. Man-made plants are rooted from the views and performances of artists, which are extreme and exaggerated, so-called “Unnatural Plants”. Meantime, the collaboration between science and art creates a novel charm with “Wonder”. Unnatural Plants are created by seven artists who made chemistry among plants and their unique opinions. We hope you could enjoy the aesthetic sense between photosynthesis and the imaginations of artists from the exhibition. In the next area, a small exhibit named “Art of Leaves” opens in the same period.
