So, this new line of merch Crypton rolled out has the cutest 90s inspired look, so I wanted to tap into that energy and write an opening for this fake show. Sorry about the lack of a video, though I took a lot of inspo from Urusei Yatsura, Sailor Moon, Pokemon Season 1, and Evangelion's opening songs (I even took a Looney Toon's composer approach by watching the openings to get a better feel of the flow of the animation and how a song fits in it). Hopefully that is conveyed well throughout this short little song!

In a former life, I worked next door to the Tate Modern and would take my breaks there to peruse Rothko's "Seagram Murals" whilst they were in situ. Mr. Rothko took exception to his original commission -- the creations were to be displayed in the restaurant in the Seagram Building -- deciding that the paintings should not be presented as a backdrop to rich folk chomping on their dinner. [Citation required!]

This song tries to embrace that theme -- it has a edgier, industrial tone to try and capture the angst. Sorry, Mark.

Players follow a young thief named Zidane Tribal, who joins with others to defeat Queen Brahne of Alexandria, the one responsible for starting the war. The plot shifts, however, when the characters realise that Brahne is working with an even more threatening person called Kuja.

Final Fantasy IX was developed alongside Final Fantasy VIII, but took a different approach by returning to the more traditional style of the early Final Fantasy games, and features allusions to other titles in the series.
