Super Mario Bros. is a platforming game for the Nintendo Entertainment System and quite possibly the most influential game ever released for the console. Having been bundled with every brand new NES console, it is the game most people think of when it comes to the NES. Just about every platforming game in the '80s and '90s has taken inspiration from this game one way or another.

The efforts of multiple Super Mario Bros. speedrunning veterans have been combined to complete a run that both beats the game and scores so many points that the score counter wraps over. While this may sound simple to achieve, doing so as fast as possible is not as simple as there are more optimal ways to farm points than the simple 1UP Koopa shell trick and places where it can be done quicker without wasting too much time. As you can see here, the original Castlevania wasn't only on the NES, but also on the MSX computer under the name "Vampire Killer".

This version is different in some important ways. Some new gameplay elements include the requirement to collect a white key in each stage in order to advance, the removal of the chain whip after each boss battle, and the ability to buy subweapons from sitting bystanders in white or red clothes.

This is an improvement of 01:00.38 over the previous run thanks to a few new time-saving tricks.

Note: To play the OMR file, you'll need to have openMSX 20.0 with the Panasonic FS-A1WSX BIOS installed.
