On October 24, 2012, approximately five years after Howie tattooed Shannon Larratt's (founder of BME.com) eye for the first time (on July 1, 2007), Howie finished the job. Thi
s impromptu interview was recorded right before they finished the procedure (finished photos can be seen on BME's ModBlog at news.bme.com and elsewhere). The eyeball tattoo procedure was first suggested by Shannon (based on his ex-wife's eyeball implant procedure) and then developed by Howie since then, after trying it in 2007 on Shannon, Pauly Unstoppable, and the late Josh Rahn. Howie also helped Shannon write the Eyeball Tattoo FAQ, which seeks to share level-headed knowledge on this procedure, and this interview was done the day after they'd completed the first draft of that document, so many of those issues were fresh in their minds. Enjoy!

Bagel head is a type of body modification pioneered in Canada and practiced in the Japanese underground scene. It is a temporary (6-to 24-hour) swelling distortion of the forehead created by a saline drip and often shaped to resemble a bagel or doughnut. In 2012, after appearing on a National Geographic TV special, this practice became the subject of sensationalism as news outlets worldwide misleadingly declared it a "Japan trend".
