A few days after the events described in Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, Lara Croft is presumed dead. Her close friends begin to recollect her previous adventures, which occurred during different periods of her life. Like its predecessors, Tomb Raider: Chronicles is an action game with puzzle-solving and platforming elements. The gameplay is very similar to that of the previous games, with the addition of a few new skills. Lara can now walk on tightropes, swing on horizontal bars, and somersault forwards from a ledge while crouching. A grappling hook has been added to her inventory. The game also includes a level editor, allowing the player to create new stages for Lara to explore.

In this Castlevania adventure, the man who started it all once again returns to the stage. Castlevania Chronicles is the first opportunity a majority of U.S. gamers have to play one of the few Castlevania games that was never released stateside. Originally titled Dracula X68000, the game was released in Japan on the Sharp X68000 in 1993 and harkens back to the original days of the series on the NES and MSX computer.

In addition to the Original mode, which is a port of the Sharp X68000 game, Chronicles adds an Arranged mode. This version of the game offers some updated music and new graphics handled by Ayami Kojima.
