ロシアの支配下にあるクリミア半島で、ウクライナ軍の水上ドローンがロシア軍の艦船を攻撃した瞬間を捉えた新たな動画が公開された。頭上のヘリや前方の艦船からの銃撃によって海上にいくつも激しく水柱が上がるなか、それを回避しながら進むドローンが、最後には標的の艦船に突撃・自爆する緊張感あふれるシーンが収められている。
ウクライナ国防省情報総局（GUR）は5月30日、ウクライナの特殊部隊「グループ13」が水上ドローンを使ってロシア軍の哨戒艇2隻を「破壊した」と発表している。
GURがインターネット上に投稿した短い動画には、少なくとも1隻の水上ドローンがヘリコプターの攻撃を受けているとみられる様子が映っている。暗視カメラで撮影されたと思われる動画の続きには、1隻の船舶が向かってくるドローンに向かって発砲し、その後少なくとも1隻の水上ドローンが静止している船舶を攻撃する直前までとみられる様子が映っている。
GURによれば、ロシア軍はさまざまな固定翼機やヘリコプター、小火器を使ってクリミア西部を狙った水上ドローン攻撃に対抗したという。本誌はウクライナ側の報告および動画について独自に確認を取ることができず、この件についてロシア国防省にメールでコメントを求めたが、これまでに返答はない。

ロシア国防省は27日、ロシア海軍の黒海艦隊が過去数日間で「黒海北西部でウクライナの無人艇4隻を破壊」したと発表した。これに先立ってロシア政府は声明を出し、ロシアの防空システムが（クリミア半島の北西に位置する）アゾフ海の上空で、ウクライナ軍が発射した陸軍戦術ミサイル（ATACMS）8発を迎撃し、黒海の上空でドローン8機を迎撃したと述べていた。
GURは水上自爆ドローン「マグラV5」を開発し、クリミア半島にあるロシアの資産を狙った攻撃に頻繁に使用している。マグラV5はこれまでに、黒海でロシア軍の複数の艦船を撃沈させてきた。
GURは声明の中で、2024年に入ってから「グループ13」の水上ドローンがロシア海軍のミサイル搭載コルベット艦「イワノベツ」、大型揚陸艦「ツェーザリ・クニコフ」、ロシア海軍のコルベット艦1隻と高速哨戒艇1隻を破壊したと述べた。
