Capcom decided to make some easy money, so they recycled parts of Mega Man X5, threw in overly difficult trial-and-error gameplay, made almost everything an obstacle course, and called it Mega Man X6.

Rescuing all Reploids on Xtreme mode is inadvisable for all but the most hardcore, yet this TAS makes it look easy. Not only that, it collects everything that can be collected before beating the game.

Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse (originally known as 悪魔城伝説 or
Akumajō Densetsu, meaning "Legend of the Demon Castle") is the
story of Trevor Belmont's battle against Dracula from the times before
Simon's battle in Castlevania. In this complex and difficult game,
there are three playable allies whom Trevor can recruit: Alucard
(Dracula's son), Grant DaNasty (a pirate captain), and Sypha Belnades
(a mystic warlord).

This game has a technically high-quality soundtrack because it uses a
VRC6 sound chip that works in the Japanese Famicom but not in the NES.
Thus, the movie was made with the Japanese version of the game instead
of the USA version.

This movie takes the path that recruits Sypha. There's also a

Yeah, CapitalPad is now one of the top investors in self-funded search fund deals. I think it's been brought on by a few different things. So one, Searchers have realized that CapitalPad will invest between $1 million to $2 million in each searcher deal. It can go as low as $300,000, but it prefers the larger equity allocations.

So that's obviously opened it up and brought in more quality deal flow. I also think CapitalPad has benefited because it's a bit of a two-sided platform. So on one side CapitalPad is obviously investing directly in searcher deals, but on the other side, it's allowing accredited investors to actually access this asset class.

Which for the individual has been a very difficult thing to do most of the time because as an individual who's not completely plugged in, they're not gonna get enough deal flow, right? Maybe they can find one or two, but you need be looking at dozens of deals for every deal you say yes to.

■企画のねらい
神話戦争やダンテの『神曲』のような世界設定は
作り手なら一度は挑戦したくなるテーマ。

そこに江戸時代の天才キャラメイカー・滝沢馬琴の
『南総里見八犬伝』のエッセンスを重ね
メイド・イン・ジャパンの匂いを加えたのが本企画です。

遊びの核は、武士道の極端な個性である
切腹・自刃・自死を、どのタイミングで使うのか。
いつ、どこで、死ぬのか。

感覚的にはシューティングゲームで
「ボムをどこで切るか」という判断を
ケレン味たっぷりのアクションRPGとして成立させたい、

そんな企画です。

■ボツの理由
まず予算。

それはそう、という話ですが（笑）
二桁億円規模になるのはほぼ確実で
実際どこまで膨らむのかも読めない。

もう一つは、「自死のシステム」を
ゲームとして破綻なく成立させるレベルデザイン力。
一見派手だが、本当に面白く仕上げるには
かなり高度なスキルセットが求められます。

さらに、この動画レベルのクオリティで
世界全体を動かす開発力を考えると
現実的に作れる会社はかなり限られる。

AIを中心とした技術進歩で
このあたりが解決できるなら
改めて本気で作りたい企画ですね。

Instead, this series uses video generation AI to visualize the original concepts,

while also sharing why they were put on hold—documenting and enjoying the process along the way.

“INFERNO EIGHT 〜New Eight Dog Chronicles〜”

■ Concept Intent

Worlds such as mythological wars or Dante’s Divine Comedy are themes

that many creators want to tackle at least once.

This project layers those ideas with elements from Nansō Satomi Hakkenden,

written by Takizawa Bakin, a master character creator of Japan’s Edo period,

adding a distinct “Made in Japan” sensibility.

At the core of the gameplay is an extreme aspect of bushidō:

seppuku, self-inflicted death, and voluntary sacrifice—and the decision of when to use them.

When do you die?

Where do you die?

The intent is similar to deciding when to deploy a bomb in a shooting game,

translated into a bold, highly stylized action RPG.

■ Why It Was Shelved

First, the budget.

A project of this scale would almost certainly require a budget of several billion yen,

and it’s difficult to predict how far the costs might escalate.

Another major challenge is the level design required to make a “self-sacrifice system”

function coherently as a game mechanic.

While it may appear flashy at first glance, shaping it into something genuinely fun

would demand an exceptionally advanced skill set.

In addition, achieving this level of quality across the entire world

would require significant development power, realistically limiting the number of studios capable of producing it.

If future technological advances—particularly those centered around AI—can resolve these challenges,

this is a project I would like to seriously pursue again.

Thinking about the number of origami cranes the boy folded in the Grass Labyrinth makes me sad, wondering how much emotion was put into them.

Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse is the story of Trevor Belmont's battle against Dracula from the times before Simon's battle in Castlevania. In this complex and difficult game, there are three playable allies whom Trevor can recruit: Alucard (Dracula's son), Grant DaNasty (a pirate captain), and Sypha Belnades (a mystic warlord).

Unlike the other branches of Castlevania III, this run uses a stairs glitch in Block 4 to climb directly to Dracula and skip most of the game. Only the USA version allows this glitch to work, so it was used instead of the Japanese version, which has superior sound quality.
