ファミコンの周辺機器にファミリーベーシックがあります。ファミコン本体にBASIC言語を組み込んだロムカセットと、ファミコン本体のエキスパンドコネクタにキーボードを接続して、BASICの文法に基づいた簡単なゲームプログラムを自作することができるようにするものです。

このBASIC（ハドソン開発のHu-BASICを元に、任天堂、シャープとの3社共同開発「NS-Hu BASIC」が正式名称です）は音楽演奏を表現するMMLという言語も打ち込めるので、ファミコンの音源で音楽を制作することも可能です。

MMLとは、Music Macro Language（ミュージック・マクロ・ランゲージ）の略で、初期のパソコンでの音楽演奏によく使われました。特徴は、通常楽曲として聞くに堪える音声信号を直接表現しようとすると膨大なデータ量になるのに対して、文字列で簡単にシーケンスデータ（自動演奏させるデータです）を入力して音楽を奏でるためデータが軽くなるということです。データが軽いという利点があるためか、現在もよく使われています）。

MMLをファミリーベーシックで打ち込み、フランス・ギャルを「夢みるシャンソン人形」を演奏しました。

「南の島のハメハメハ大王」は、伊藤アキラ作詞、森田公一作曲の童謡です。

国王一家を始め、島民全体が「ハメハメハ」という名をもつ、不思議な南国の島の様子を歌った楽曲です。

『みんなのうた』では、1976年4月～5月放送され、本放送後、わずか２ヶ月後の1976年8月～9月に再放送、その後も何度か再放送されている、日本を代表する人気の童謡です。

伴奏はファミリーベーシックで奏でてみました。

ファミリーベーシックは、簡単にいうと、ファミコンを8ビットパソコンのようにプログラミングができるようにする周辺機器です。

自分でゲームのプログラムを作ったり、「MML（Music Macro Language）」という音楽専用のプログラミング言語を入力したり音楽を奏でることが可能です。

今回は、そのMMLをファミリーベーシックでに入力して、「南の島のハメハメハ大王」を演奏したものです。

wow, my first synthV song published, although it's kind of shit. This whole thing was in a time crunch which is why I don't really have much quality. Thank you, Jo, for making my MV, I really appreciate the work you put into it with only 1.5 days to make it! The only reason i wanted to make this so quick was because 2026 is as of writing this only 6 hours away, so i want my music career to start in 2025. (I PROMISE you I'm not this bad-) but yeah, the audio is the problem. it got compressed a bit and also since I couldn't write the lyrics with much detail (keep in mind English is my first language) which means some of the syllables don't fit or there might be a mistranslation. Is it obvious that vocals are my weak spot?
