「美しき天然」は、佐世保海軍第三代軍楽長の田中穂積作曲、武島羽衣作詞の唱歌です。
1902年（明治35年）に完成したといわれています。
ワルツのテンポでと楽譜に表示されていることから、日本初のワルツと言われています。
私立佐世保女学校の音楽教師でもあった田中は、烏帽子岳や弓張岳からの九十九島や佐世保湾など、佐世保の山河の美しい風景に感動し、これを芸術化し世に広めたいと考えていおり、そこで、折りよく入手した武島羽衣の詩に作曲し、本曲は誕生したそうです。
この曲は、女学校の愛唱歌として地元では長らく親しまれたそうですが、この曲を有名にしたのは、活動写真の伴奏や、サーカスやチンドン屋のジンタとして演奏されてからだそうです。
ジンタとは、明治〜大正期にかけて流行した ブラスバンド風の軽音楽のことで、高音と打楽器中心の、本格的な低音（金管バス）を省いた中音中心の楽器編成というのが特徴です。
これらがジンタを高音がよく響く、軽やかで陽気な音楽性にしています。
日本初のワルツと言われ、かつジンタの代表曲である「美しき天然」をWhiteCULに歌ってもらいました。
伴奏はファミリーベーシックで奏でてみました。
ファミリーベーシックは、簡単にいうと、ファミコンを8ビットパソコンのようにプログラミングができるようにする周辺機器です。

Gomoku is an abstract strategy board game. Also called Gobang or Five in a Row, it is traditionally played with Go pieces (black and white stones) on a go board with 15x15 intersections; however, because once placed, pieces are not moved or removed from the board; gomoku may also be played as a paper and pencil game. Black plays first if white did not just win, and players alternate in placing a stone of their color on an empty intersection. The winner is the first player to get an unbroken row of five stones horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.

原曲は、黒人労働者による堤防工事についての歌でしたが、時代による労働内容の変化によって鉄道労働者の歌になったと考えられています。

Originally from Philadelphia, Richard Blank studied Spanish at a young age. While in college, he lived abroad in Spain and immersed himself in the language.
Upon his return to the USA, he interned for Telemundo, and eventually made the bold step of relocating to Costa Rica at age 25 to help out a friend, working in a call center.

In this episode, we talk to Richard Blank. He is empathetic, confident and has “old school grit”. Richard lives in Costa Rica.
Richard tells us about getting off the comma created by familial and societal expectations. Growing up in a world where he was expected to follow a prescribed path, Richard describes feeling like he didn’t fit in and appearing as a failure to those around him. Allowing himself to “fail out” led him to find a new path and surprise himself with what he would find along the way. Paying attention to his instincts and the signs along the way, he ultimately found himself in another country, speaking a different language, and enjoying a success he never imagined. Tune in to hear what Richard means when he says “friends tell me they wish they had tried”.
