東京競馬場のそばに、こんなに静かなお寺があるなんて。 府中市は神社もいいけどお寺も人知れず古式ゆかしき聖域がたくさんありますね。いい土地です。 狸伝説は全国各地に残っているけれど、こちらはちょっと変わった物語。 3千年も学んでもまだまだ学び足りないという、恐るべき探究心。 一方、狸と言いつつ実はやんごとない身分の方が匿われていたのではないか、それを狸のおとぎ話風にしあげているのではないか？暗殺者に狙われていたり、毒殺されそうになったりなど、という妄想も働きます。 いずれにしても良いお寺です。

熊本県人吉市には、日本遺産として相良三十三観音霊場７番札所、石水寺があります。
今回、十六羅漢図と地獄十王図を許可をいただいて撮影してきました。

巨石をくりぬいた丸い山門がある寺。境内には眼鏡橋や湧水などがあり、本堂裏手の山や花々が咲き乱れる風景が四季折々に楽しめます。石板の版画『十六羅漢図』や『地獄十王図』の掛け軸などを所蔵し、本堂屋根裏を利用したスペースに展示され、拝観することができます。また、4月には樹齢500年といわれるカイドウの花が境内をピンク色に染めます。
