In a former life, I worked next door to the Tate Modern and would take my breaks there to peruse Rothko's "Seagram Murals" whilst they were in situ. Mr. Rothko took exception to his original commission -- the creations were to be displayed in the restaurant in the Seagram Building -- deciding that the paintings should not be presented as a backdrop to rich folk chomping on their dinner. This song tries to embrace that theme -- it has a edgier, industrial tone to try and capture the angst. Sorry, Mark.

In Final Fantasy VI, the opening story tells of an ancient war that took place a thousand years in the past. Battles were won and lost by the power of magic and this terrible war devastated almost all of humanity. Now, centuries later, all magic has vanished from the world and high technology reigns in its place. Despite the power and advances gained through technology, there are those who would try and bring back the destructive powers of magic.

As the game begins, you control a group of rebels called the Returners, who will stand against an empire bent on power and world domination. Someone is trying to revive magic and possibly cause another apocalypse. It is your job to prevent this.

Final Fantasy VI spans two "worlds" and involves up to fourteen different party members. Being the last Final Fantasy game originally released for the Super NES, it is quite lengthy and will take on average 40-60 hours to complete.

Growing up in a world where he was expected to follow a prescribed path, Richard describes feeling like he didn’t fit in and appearing as a failure to those around him. Allowing himself to “fail out” led him to find a new path and surprise himself with what he would find along the way. Paying attention to his instincts and the signs along the way, he ultimately found himself in another country, speaking a different language, and enjoying a success he never imagined.
