BGM: Nostalgic Blood of the East ~ Old World - Touhou 8: Imperishable Night

Bro first time using NND and it's already getting complex.., also apparently i got myself somehow to the RSVideoJam4 competition and i have no idea how it happened. This entry does fit the theme regardless so whatever.
The entry was supposed to be part of the first jam (that's why I used THESE sources, plus the different segments, to replicate specific editing styles i saw in my early days of watching YTPMVs (8 years ago until THE POWER OF TERRY came out (YT post link: Ugzwbh4FPwEwwyiRkDJ4AaABCQ)) alongside some references i inserted, and a bgm which made sense to me because it had "nostalgic" in the name + Pofle Gaming used it once) unfortunately I was late by a little with my submission.. made it also as a tribute to Osheri AKA Big Daddy (actual username), otis and obviously רובי קרקר, without them i wouldn't be discovering the YTPMV/otoMAD coummunity.
It works with the fourth jam's theme since the sources are Made In Israel, like me.
This do represents my ROOTS I would say but unfortunately It came out mid.

Over the years, speedruns of this game would manage to complete the game with less and less stars. At first there were 70 stars, because Bowser demanded it. Then there were 16 stars, because MIPS the Rabbit demanded it. Then there was 1 star, because Bowser's Sub demanded it. Then there were no stars, but 2 keys, because the door leading to the castle basement demanded it. Now there is 1 key because the viewers are impatient and demanded the game be quicker.

This run completes the game using the legacy 16 stars category, which only allows the use of the MIPS clip to gain access to the 2nd Bowser stage.

バートルビーの動画をもっと伸ばしたい。そう思って、急遽予告編を制作してみました。やはり本編の46分53秒は長いのではないか。動画が長いとなかなか見る気にならないのではないか。そう考えて、短めの予告編で興味を引きつけようとした次第です。短い動画を試してみたかったと言うのもあります。ともかく、この予告編でどの程度本編の動画を伸ばせそうか、やるだけやってみました。


バートルビーという作品は多くの文学者、哲学者によってさまざまな解釈がなされてきました。しかしここでは、自分が読んでみた実感を語ってみたいと思います。バートルビーは外からの動機で動けない人間になったのだと思います。自分の内で納得しないと動けない。筆写をしようとしても手が動かない。なぜできないのか本人にもわからないが、しない方がいいということだけはわかる。ターキーやニッパーズは自我を爆発させつつも、午前だけ、午後だけは仕事という、やるべきことに従事できる。しかし、バートルビーにはそれができない。やるべきという論理に従えない。従おうとしても無駄なのでできない。現実にも、自分がやりたいかどうかを無視して義務感だけで行動すると動けなくなるものです。しかし、100％やりたいかどうかだけで生きていこうとすると、ある特定の人は何もやりたいことがないことに気づかされるのではないか。そもそもそうしようとすると、生きることそのものが不可能になることに気づかされるのではないか。それがわかっていてなお動けない。バートルビーを内側から突き動かす衝動、あるいは動かさない衝動はそれほどまでに根深く巣くっているのでないかと思います。


今回の動画の配役では、最もセリフの多い語り手の役には、誰もが耳慣れているゆっくり霊夢を配置し、バートルビーの役には、青白い顔というイメージからゆっくりこーりんを配置しました。また、でっぷりした体型という点から、ターキーにはきめえまるを、気性が荒い若者という点から、ニッパーズにはフランを、12歳の子供という点から、ジンジャーナットにはチルノを配置しました。このあたりは、ぱっと浮んだイメージで決めています。

TAS originally published on 2024-08-28 Dragon's Lair is an FMV game that was animated by Don Bluth and his studio. It was initially released on LaserDisc-based arcade machines and was revolutionary for featuring fully animated cutscenes as part of a video game. In the years to follow, there would be various attempts at porting the game to various video game consoles. Many of them became standard platformers like the NES and SNES version. Some retained the core gameplay and design like the Sega CD and Game Boy Color version. The Game Boy Color version is unique in that the cutscenes from the original arcade game were faithfully reanimated to fit the console's limitations. Not all cutscenes were included, however.
