90年代に日本IBMが発売した外付けCD-ROMドライブCD-20X（と兄弟機のCD-400）はIDE PCカードを使用しますが、
単体でも電源を用意することで音楽再生用としても使用することができます。
という訳で需要ガン無視でCD-20Xを使用して鳥の詩を再生してみました。

外付けのCDドライブは強力な電源部分が特徴で、
AppleのPowerCDなど高音質なポータブルCDプレイヤーとして有名な名機も存在します。

Youtubeより、所謂"PC/AT互換機"の源流となった巨人IBMの「初代PC」の動画。
これは初代PCである5150ではなく5160ですが、基本構成はほぼ同じです。
源流は後に出る「IBM PC/AT Model 5170」だと言われそうですが、後のPC/ATに設計が引き継がれることを考えると、この機種が真の源流でしょう。

この頃はまだ生産コストより質を求める時代であり、PS/2にかけて同梱された座屈バネ式キーボードの堅牢さと心地良い打鍵感には今でも魅了されます。

当時のキャッチコピーは「大人の翼」で、そのキャッチコピー通りに大人のパソコンそのものでした。
というのも、このThinkPad 560の価格が最上級モデルで59万8000円（最下級モデルでも37万8000円と割高）と、お値段も大人そのもの

しかしながら、ニコニコ動画の動画アップロードでビットレートがオーバーで何度もアップロードに失敗して、画質を低下させて回避しましたが…これじゃあ、ブロックノイズとかで見辛いよ…。
どうでもいいのですが、俺が所有しているIBM System x3200 M2（愛称は卯月）にやっとOSをインストールすることが出来ました。
