1959年にイタリア国営放送の新人コンテストで優勝。1960年「Flamenco Rock」でデビュー。1961年から9年連続でサンレモ音楽祭に出場する。その後も4回出場している。サンレモ音楽祭では優勝曲に恵まれなかったが、確かな歌唱力や抒情性から本国イタリアより、ドイツや日本で人気が高かった。日本でのファンも多い。この楽曲は、沢山の歌手がカバーしていますが、私はミルバさんの歌が一番好きです。
