Bachata dance style is a form of social dance that originated in the Dominican Republic in the 1960's and it is a form of Latin social dance. Bachata almost never made it outside of the Dominican Republic because a dictator named Trujillo, who preferred Merengue to Bachata, almost stopped it from gaining popularity. Seeing both music and dance as the lowest forms of art, he banned them both and called them the lowest forms of art. There are still some underground bars and brothels that dance the bachata, so far as I know. Nowadays, bachata is a dance that is danced all over the world and it has evolved into many other styles of dance that are based on it.As Bachata has become more popular in the community, it can be divided into 3 types.
