古くから今に至るまで議論の尽きない主題「時間」についてです。
まず現代哲学の時間論でよく問題になるのが、物理学の相対性理論を考えたときにどうなるのか、ですね。相対論にあっては「同時」は相対的になるので、（離れた場所同時の「現在」同士は同時だと考えた場合）客観的な「現在」を定めることはできない、ではどう考えるべきか――という話です。

引き続き現代の分析哲学の時間論、とりわけ「現在主義 presentism」と相対性理論は矛盾するのか、という論点を見ていきます。
一般には確かに、矛盾すると見られがちで、それこそ現在主義の弱点として一番指摘される点です。しかし、Miller の総説論文でもさらっと当然と見なされている「現在瞬間 present moment」の「瞬間 moment」を疑問視すると、実はその限りではないのでは……と気づきます。

相変わらず哲学者側がせっかくの面白くなりそうだった点に踏み込めていないと煙に巻いてるとか批判していますが、それだけ専門家でも意外と触れていないポイントを話しているということです。

In a former life, I worked next door to the Tate Modern and would take my breaks there to peruse Rothko's "Seagram Murals" whilst they were in situ. Mr. Rothko took exception to his original commission -- the creations were to be displayed in the restaurant in the Seagram Building -- deciding that the paintings should not be presented as a backdrop to rich folk chomping on their dinner. This song tries to embrace that theme -- it has a edgier, industrial tone to try and capture the angst. Sorry, Mark.
