最近の（？）日本語の曲って、歌詞の一部に英語が使われていたりしますよね。じゃあ、その逆は？と思って作りました。歌詞の一部だけ日本語です。英語圏の人にはこんな感じに聞こえているのかな、と思ったりしました。和訳は動画内にあります。

TOTOさんの「Africa」です。
いろんな人にカバーされているので「またか」と思われるかもしれませんが、
この曲を含むTOTOのシンセ音のプリセットを衝動買いしてしまったのでつい・・・。
訳は私です。
作者のデヴィッドさんは「アフリカに対する愛の歌だ」とおっしゃってます。
そういう側面もあるんでしょうが私は、
「Frightened of this thing that I've become」
（自分がもう、こうなってしまったって事が怖いんだ）
の部分が一番言いたい事なんじゃないかと思っています。
この部分についてデヴィッドさんはインタビューで、
「仕事に夢中になっていて、他の人のように若いころ結婚や家庭を持とうとか考えなかった」
みたいなことを言っています。
つまり、仕事ばかりで生きてきた事への後悔ですね。
そうすると「こうなってしまった」っていったい「どうなった」のかって言うと、
私は人生そのものが「飢餓に苦しむアフリカ」化してしまったのだと思います。
「アフリカに雨が降りますように」っていうのは、
非常に切実だけど叶いそうに無い願いのたとえじゃないでしょうか。
彼女を迎えに行く途中で老人を呼び止める主人公は、
まだ仕事に生きることをあきらめきれてないようです。
彼は飛行機でやってくる彼女に救いを見出しますが、
「the things we never had（私たちが出来なかった事）」と言っているので、
おそらく主人公と同じような仕事人間なのでしょう。
「結婚」とか「家庭」とかは、二人の間でタブーなのかもしれません。
「百人以上の男でも僕らを引き離すことはできない」と彼は強調しますが、
一言で関係は終わってしまう可能性があります。
傷を舐めあおうとする野犬どもと違って主人公はキリマンジャロ級に、
自分の求めているのは、心の癒しであり愛だと確信しているのですが、
それを彼女に言い出すのはまだ先になりそうです。
それまで彼は人生の砂漠で雨が降る事を祈るのみ、そんな歌だと私は勝手に思ってます。

今回は「ニートに働いてもらいました」と題しまして、ニートの方々に働いてもらうという、大胆な企画を設けました。
ただ、ニートと言っても「Neet(not in education, employment or training)」と言う意味の方では無く「Neat(きちんとした)」と言う意味の方のニートです。
その名も「Neat Video」です。
暗い場所で撮影をした場合、画面自体にノイズが発生してしまうことがあります。その映像に発生してしまったノイズを強力に除去することが出来る機能を持っているのが、この「Neat Video」と言うプラグインソフトです。
働き者です!!。
値段は18,700円もしますが、使ってみる価値はあります。
今回は比較のため、昔撮影しました「こうげ大地・灯籠祭」のノイズ除去版をお送りします。
