血中に[スパイク蛋白が何ヶ月も検出されるとする論文](https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/prca.202300048)[3]があり、以前からmRNAの逆転写も懸念事項であった。逆転写は確率的には低いのだろうが、実際にスパイク蛋白が何ヶ月も検出された以上、何らかの方法で導入されていたのではと疑われていた。
DNA混入なら直接的にゲノム改変される可能性が高くなる。特にmRNAワクチンの場合、DNA断片がLNP(脂質ナノ粒子)に包まれDNA導入が容易になっている。
